Veedersburg -- Ben Ezra Covault, 79, retired Fountain County farmer, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. Mr. Covault had been seriously ill since Aug 24. He left Veedersburg just a few months ago and at the time of his death resided on Rt 1, Kingman. Born in Fountain County on Dec 21, 1888, he was the of John and Cynthia Hayden Covault. His marriage to Edna Bailey of Veedersburg was solemnized on Sept 11, 1912. His wife survives. Other survivors include a son, Darrell of Veedersburg; a brother, Fred of Stone Bluff, a sister, Mrs. George Simpson of Waynetown and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons.

Ben Ezra Covault, 79 of Kingman Rt 1, a former resident of Veedersburg died Wednesday, Sept 4, 1968 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. He had been in ill health since Aug 24. Born Dec 21, 1888 in Fountain County, he was the son of John and Cynthia Hayden Covault. He was married Sept 11,1912 at Veedersburg to Edna Baily, who survives. He had been a farmer. Other survivors include a son, Darrell of Veedersburg; a brother, Fred of Stone Bluff; a sister, Mrs. George Simpson of Waynetown;and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lamey Funeral Home in Veedersburg, formerly Sever Funeral Home. The Rev. Ivan Steed will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.

Ivan Steel officiated and burial was in Osborn Prarie Cemetery northeast of Covington.
